the author

It doesn’t seem quite right to devote a whole page on my blog to just talking about myself.  I’d rather you told me about yourself.  But I suppose, as I’m the author of the blog you might be wishing to know a bit about me.   If you’re interested, read on…

I was born in Wisconsin. My family has moved several times since I was born, and now we make residence in the midwest of the USA.  I’m the daughter of two wonderful parents and sister to six amazing siblings.  Two brothers (one younger, one older than myself) and four sisters (all younger than I). I’m a member of Christ Fellowship of Kansas City the wonderful church God has allowed me to be a part of.

The most important thing though is not where I live, what I do, or who my family is.  The most important thing is that God has redeemed me by the blood of His very Son and made me His child.   Saved by His grace alone, my life must be devoted to His service…wherever He calls, whatever the cost.  Christ told his followers that the one who loves his life will lose it, yet the one who loses his life in the world, will gain it to life eternal.  He told His followers whoever is not willing to take up his cross and follow wherever He leads is not worthy of Him.  I don’t know exactly what the cost of following Christ will mean in my life – what the implications of the cost will be – but I pray that the Lord would give me the strength to follow Him wherever He leads me, whatever the cost may be.  In the end, regardless of what that cost is in my life, it will be more than worth it for the wonder and joy of actually knowing God and being able to spend my life for Him.

I write…a lot.  I make music…by singing & playing violin, piano, and guitar.  I draw…whenever I get the chance.  I quilt, sew, embroider, and crochet…whenever I get that creative urge; then I try to finish the projects even when the urge has left.  I read…from time to time when I can fit it into my schedule.

Anything else you’d like to know?  Go ahead and ask.  And feel free to share about yourself in a comment.  I’d be happy to get to know you!

Thought I’d be the first to reply :) I was looking for a button for my blog tonight that had to do with being the light. It’s my motto, then I found your button. I put it on my site, clickable as meant to be, and then came on over to read up.
I read a few posts and was amazed to find out you are still in your teenage years.
You have amazing insight, thank you for being brave enough to share it and for encouraging others along the way.
Keep up the good work, your writing is so gentle and truthful.
You will hopefully get some traffic from my blog now :)
